blueberry meditation

Blueberry fields are calling
Where time fades away and peace is lolling
Face to the sun, drinking in its warm embrace
Close my eyes, to feel the sweet wind brush my face

It's time to go, to that place, that falls between gaps
That takes you to a place, where your throughs collapse
Like the clouds floating away on their backs
It is timeless and ageless, in all forms with no masks

As I sit and pick, the blue gems roll off my hands
Like in the hourglass sands
I hear my own child like giggling
The only concern is the blueberries giggling

The sounds all around, creates a song
That forever more, my inner being longs
This place inside that eternal reins
Is just like my blueberry stains

Some would say, I'm just picking blueberries
I would say, there is much more that marries
For I know, I go to a place deep inside
That is just the beginning of this ride

There is no place I would rather be
Than the sweet still waters that make up me

This is my ode to my favourite berry that is true, it is also my way of being silly with my daily practice of meditation. This is a version of walking meditation; in the form of blueberry picking! I love it and reap great benefits for my body, mind and soul!

This ancient art, of getting to uncover oneself through meditation is considered by one of our most influential teachers of our time; Deepak Chopra to be;

"Meditation takes you beyond the mind's noisy chatter into the pure awarness that is the source of all your happiness, inspiration and love."

Meditation has several health benefits that even the prestigious Mayo Clinic points out, like;gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • building skills to manage your stress
  • increasing self awareness
  • focusing on the present
  • reducing negative emotion
This western clinic has also states that it assists with many medical conditions to help relieve symptoms such as;
  • Anxiety disorderAsthma
  • Asthma
  • Depression
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Pain
  • Sleep problems

Other fun and enticing facts, that might boost your inner desire, to sit with yourself and sometimes face being and even liking you.

In just 80 minutes of meditation training can cut pain in half!

By turning off that internal constant mind chatter of judgement actual improves your sex life! Sign me up!

Can break the cycle of mind traps and stop repeating hurtful cycles.

According to the Marines, only two hours a meditation a week gave them the edge on better moods and elevated memory to prepare them for deployment!

Best yet, keeps you cool, calm and compassionate; it is working for the Dali Lama, it may work for you too!

Psychological Science in 2010, said that it assists staying focused by freeing the mind of distractions.
Even if distracted are able to return to this zen state of focus even faster than people that do not meditate.

UCLA study showed that there is less age related brain shrinkage and better connection between brain regions with a  consistent meditation practice!

What I can personally share with you after twenty years of a meditation practice, it has given me the ability to pause or take a breath  before responding. It has helped me stay as present and attentive to  each precious moment. At the beginning gave me the windows to see into me; even though it felt like I would burst if I had to sit another second! This was the start of me liking me, which now has grown into a full  love affair with myself!

Whatever your reason, meditation is the access point to the stillness of all creation you hold inside of you! What if, you were the creator of all things from the inside out? What if you could simply be and by being more you could focus on nothing where everything comes from; effortless and easily as a tree grows or a river flows!

To feel the benefits of meditation only a few minutes a day is required. Youtube is a great source of free guided meditations. Deepak Chopra is the king of mantras, and the latest queen of yoga and self proclaimed spirit junkie, check out Gabrielle's meditations!

Be well, sit each day and reclaim the still point within!

OM, Namaste!

Forever here for you,
Katrina
